Katelyn Gely, Esq.

Katelyn Gely is an Associate Attorney at Rodriguez-McCloskey PLLC admitted to practice in the states of New York and New Jersey.

Katelyn represents U.S. and international clients in business affairs, litigation, and arbitration of disputes involving a wide range of civil matters. Katelyn assists clients at every stage of commercial litigation, she conducts legal research, drafts motions, and pleadings, and helps prepare clients and witnesses for depositions and trial.

Katelyn reviews and drafts contracts for business owners as well as subcontractors for the construction industry. She has become a trusted aid in counseling established business owners’ and startups to assist them with navigating legal risks and protecting their business. 

Katelyn’s considerable achievements include:

• Second chaired on a nine-day construction arbitration, in which the client was awarded over one million dollars;
• Defeated a summary judgment motion on an account stated claim which contained inconsistency in the billing process;
• Represents a portfolio of construction companies and bonding entities in disputes in New York State;
• Presents oral argument regarding discovery and other disputes;
• Conducts meetings and conferences regarding discovery;
• Prepares and conducts depositions;
• Attends pre-trial conferences, compliance conferences, and hearings.

Katelyn received her undergraduate Bachelor of Science from Iona College where she studied Political Science and Pre-law. She received her Juris Doctorate Degree from New York Law School where she focused her academic studies on corporate and business law. While in law school, Katelyn was an executive board member of the Moot Court Association and an affiliate of the Business and Finance Center at New York Law School. Katelyn for her meritorious participation on the Moot Court Association was awarded the Order of the Barristers for her accomplishments.

Katelyn a native New Yorker currently living in Brooklyn is fluent in English and Spanish.
