Tayaba Zahra, Esq.

Tayaba Zahra is an associate attorney at Rodriguez-McCloskey PLLC and has been a member of The New York State Bar since 2018. Presently as an associate attorney her practice areas include representing U.S. and international clients in federal and state courts.

Since joining the firm, Tayaba has assisted with the preparation of business litigation documents, drafted successful motions and appeared in discovery conferences. Her skills have proved to be an invaluable asset which have contributed measurably to the success of the firm’s clients. 

Additionally, Tayaba has extensive document review experience including the application of discovery methods pursued by the Federal Trade Commission and Department of Justice. She has effectively worked on evaluating client communications, analyzing privilege, and facilitating disclosure in legal proceedings.  

Tayaba has provided valuable counsel in the following matters:

• Assisted with mechanic lien disputes in New York State for construction companies and bonding entities. 
• Involved with large scale document discovery and data analysis which resulted in an arbitration victory. 
• Defeated a summary judgment motion on account stated complaint.
• Vacated a default judgment in a promissory note action preventing entry of a judgment on note.
• Prevailed on a motion in opposition to strike a jury demand.

Tayaba earned her Juris Doctorate from New York Law School where she focused on Real Estate Law and was affiliated with The Center for Real Estate Studies. Notably while pursuing her degree, she was a semi-finalist in the Charles W. Froessel Intramural Moot Court Competition, interned for the Honorable Arlene H. Hahn at the New York City Housing Court, and for a residential real estate transactional attorney. Some of her responsibilities during the internships included reviewing warrant applications requesting enforcement of possessory judgments, contract revisions, review and assembly of documents for property closings, and analysis of offering plans.
